Colorado Center of Health and Nutrition Gives Back : CCHN Blog

Welcome to the Nourish the Children Charity!

Within the last year of business I have been searching for a way that my business could give back and make a difference. My passion in my business life as well as personal can be summed up in one word “nourish” and I was looking for a way to nourish people who may not have access to the nutrients they need to thrive. I was introduced to a wonderful charity Nourish the Children, by a dear friend and after much investigation and research I determined that this was that charity that Colorado Center of Health and Nutrition was going to sponsor and be a part of.

Colorado Center of Health and Nutrition Gives Back : CCHN BlogWhat is Nourish the Children?

The Nourish the Children initiative is a solution to provide a consistent and growing supply of nourishing food to the world’s most needy children. This simple concept succeeds by donating a highly nutritious food—VitaMeal®— to third-party nonprofit organizations that specialize in distributing food to those suffering from malnutrition and famine. By donating the Vitameal prodcut, I know exactly how my monthly contribution is being used and can be assured that the donation is making a difference in the lives of children.

Why I believe in Nourish the Children and VitaMeal?

Malnourished children are missing KEY NUTRIENTS in their diets, which can hinder brain, bone, and immune system development. Most humanitarian food consists mainly of grain, such as corn, but may lack other essential nutrients necessary for HEALTHY DEVELOPMENT.

Colorado Center of Health and Nutrition Gives Back : CCHN BlogVitaMeal is SPECIALLY FORMULATED FOR MALNOURISHED CHILDREN* or family use. Working with an expert in child malnutrition in third-world countries, VitaMeal was developed to provide:

• A balance of carbohydrates, protein, fat, and fiber

• Essential fatty acids required for normal brain development, skin health, and immune defense

• Electrolytes necessary for maintaining normal fluid balance and muscle function

• 25 essential vitamins and minerals, including vitamin A for normal sight and immune functions, as well as nutrients for normal growth and skeletal development

VitaMeal is vegetarian and non-dairy, and allows for the easy addition of ingredients to fit every taste and culture. Each VitaMeal package contains 30 child-sized meals, or enough food to provide a child with one nutritious meal each day for a month.
