The Mission and Vision of Colorado Center of Health and Nutrition, your Fort Collins Nutrition Clinic
Hello and welcome to my site, I am Dr. Kim Bruno and I would be honored to assist you on your journey to optimal health. I have dedicated my career to improving the health of our population, one person at a time.
Our health care system faces some real lifestyle medicine issues such as large and increasing numbers of obesity and diabetes, chronic health concerns and astounding numbers of people, even kids, with digestive and auto-immune disorders. It is not a coincidence that the rise of these health disorders parallel with the decline in our food supply and the overwhelming number of people on prescription drugs.
I believe that we are inundated with mis-information in the topic of health, and people are grasping to find the “magic pill” to increase their wellness and longevity. I want to educate my patients that there is not a magic pill, but through returning to basics of whole foods, clean living, and by proper individual identification of their body’s biochemistry we can address all areas of health and help them to achieve optimal wellness.
Some people may say – “these are such large issues, why do you think you can make a difference?” I believe I can make a difference in the patients I treat, their family and consequently the community through consistent and small steps which will snowball and take hold. The mission and vision of my clinic is much like the starfish story.
Original Story by: Loren Eisley
One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked, What are you doing?
The youth replied, Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.
Son, the man said, don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t make a difference!
After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said I made a difference for that one.
